NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe assemblies

For the attention of:  Designated Safeguarding Lead

Some great news we would love to share with you and your teams.  We have now delivered our NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe  assemblies and workshops in hundreds of infant and primary schools across Brighton and Hove, East and West Sussex.

We would love your school to be next!

Schools can play an enormous part in preventing child abuse and the brand new NSPCC Schools Service film   highlights several of our key services for schools.

It’s only a couple of minutes long and can be shared with staff at your school.  Please follow this link to find out how the NSPCC can support you with your safeguarding role in school

We want to reach out to the schools that are yet to benefit from our gentle safeguarding messages, at no cost to the school, so that we can confidently say that all schools across Sussex are partnered with the NSPCC to ensure that their pupils know how to Speak Out Stay Safe

We provide a 20 minute assembly for KS1 to include your reception children, a 30 minute assembly for KS2 and then a follow up 60 minute class workshops for each of your Y5 and Y6 classes – we aim to visit every child 3 times in their primary school career – in Reception, Year 3 and in Year 6 – our broader aim is to revisit every school at least once every 3 years.

We will be prioritising new school bookings  ie, schools that are yet to receive Speak out Stay safe, as much as possible at this stage so that we can meet our aim of visiting every primary school.

Please follow this link for full information about all that our “SOSS” visit entails, and the broader free resources that are available to your school, such as downloadable lesson plans and our brand new video for PANTS and SHARE AWARE and our safeguarding assessment toolkit

NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe .

You can register your interest here:     Request a SOSS visit, or simply email Amanda Rocca, AC for NSPCC Sussex, at or I can talk the service through in more detail on 01273 962 859 to book your preferred dates.

We book up fast so please don’t let your pupils miss out! Our service is delivered by fully trained NSPCC volunteers, who are all enhanced DBS checked  and will ensure that pupils know what abuse is and  empower them to speak out to trusted adults about any worries that they may have, and is delivered at no cost to the school

If you would like your pupils to take part in a sponsored event to support the NSPCC to be there for more children and visit even more schools, then we have some lovely activities and events for them to take part in which will be fully supported by one of our NSPCC Schools Organisers, we take care of all of it and can include your school council in this too – all incorporated smoothly into our visit. Schools tell us that their pupils feel so proud to support other children in this way and any support is always greatly appreciated.

The Speak out. Stay safe. programme has been designed to link directly to the curriculum, and also helps with your responsibility to provide evidence that your school is meeting safeguarding inspection requirements. Together let’s keep children safe.

I look forward to hearing from you very soon and securing dates for you in our diary!
